Arranging an assessment
Appointments are made through the hospital's outpatient line or through the appointment service. If you are travelling from outside Chongqing, say so when you book, because the assessment and any pre-operative tests can sometimes be arranged across fewer visits. If a fold is causing a skin problem, say that when you book, because it changes how soon you should be seen.
What to bring
Bring a record of your weight over the last two years, a list of your current medicines and allergies, and the names of any conditions you are being treated for. If you have had weight-loss treatment of any kind, note what and when, because the timing of the loss changes the timing of any surgery. Previous surgical records, if you have them, save a great deal of time.
What happens at the consultation
Expect a measurement exercise rather than a presentation. The areas are examined and the skin is handled to see how much it recoils and how much of each fold is skin rather than fat. Your weight history is reviewed, your nutritional and medical status are considered, and you are asked which areas trouble you most, because the order is set with you. You should leave knowing what is achievable, in what sequence, over what period, and what the scars would be.
Asking a question without booking
Questions about the content of this site — including any correction you believe should be made to it — are welcome through the hospital's administration line. Clinical questions about your own case are best answered in person, and we will say so rather than guess.
